Vintage hifi gear has something that modern equipment doesn’t – real buttons and knobs, wood panels, the solid feel of everything. No touchpanels! No updates or reboots needed! And it can still be used with contemporary sound sources – when whatever streaming or music player you are using today are out of fashion tomorrow – you can still use these timeless receivers. And of course the soulful sound of high class vintage hifi gear, in particular Tandberg, which is what this place is mostly about.
This is a journey in learning how to restore vintage Tandberg hifi equipment (and some other brands). I’m an amateur who got hooked on vintage hifi and tries to understand and restore it (I’m not a pro and don’t take what I do as the ultimate advice).
We’re writing a book on electronics and vintage hifi repair!
Would you be interested in learning how to work on audio equipment and understand how it works?
